John Deere 24T Small Square Baler, 540 PTO, Pin Hitch, Swinging Tongue, Twine Tie, 6.70-15 And 5.00-15 Tires, NOTE: Operational Condition Of This Item Has Not Been Verified And Is Not Disputable By The Buyer. Potential Buyers Should Inspect The Item Before Bidding. Deere never had a serial/year cross reference for pull type implements of that vintage, only for self propelled machines like tractors and combines. The 24T production was started in 1962 and I believe ended in early 70's and was replaced by the 336 baler, but I can't remember the exact year. John Deere 14T Small Square Baler. Feeder bands are worn; baler works well for coarse straw and hay, but would needs bands replaced for finer hay. Knotter assembly works well. Driver side tire has been replaced. Does anybody have any experience with the JD 24T small square hay baler?
What years were they made? Do they make pretty good bales? Any major problems with them....knotters?
Looking at one for $1500. Don't need a great baler as won't do much hay in small squares, but definately don't want one that won't tie.
